I also cover some alternative energy sources that may not be completely green or clean, but can help provide interim steps towards the inevitable green clean future - all while helping energy independence from unreliable and frequently unfriendly sources of energy, like in the Middle East. For example, nuclear power is one such highly controversial, but still relatively clean and green power source. Another is oil shale and oil sands, which are not really all that clean, but still help with energy independence. Another is hybrid cars. Again, not really clean, but still greener than most other transportation alternatives. And more recently electric cars.
